Satellite positioning

The piece that engages great part of our services is the satellites, of the following types:

GPS

  • Constellation of 24+6 satellites of the North American Army
  • Possibility of including an error called “selected availability”
  • Universal positioning
  • Precise positioning of up to 5 meters
  • Very weak and brief signal, that implies that receivers must “see the sky” without interferences.
  • Receivers of average prices
  • According to the receiver, it has very bad TTFF (acquisition in cold)
GPS

A-GPS

  • Uses previous technology
  • Assists the receivers with certain constellation information.
  • Improves the TTFF.
  • Improves the sensitivity of the receivers that even allows positions under cover.
  • It needs the existence a server capable to assist the receiver with the necessary information
  • The receiver must be equipped with chipset that allows assisting it.
  • According to the HW (accepted information and how it uses it) will be the improvement regarding traditional GPS.

Galileo

  • Network of 27+3 European satellites of civil and military use
  • Universal positioning
  • Will allow bidirectional communications with the constellation
  • Will allow additional complementary services to GPS
  • Will allow centimetres precision
